Congrats! You’re engaged, and it’s time to begin gathering information and making selections. You may already have precise ideas as to what you are looking for or, quite possibly, you are looking for someone to help offer design inspiration and direction. Whichever the case may be, there is going to be a rental budget. We always recommend starting your planning by prioritizing for the basics – seating, dining, and drinking. Following that, if you are so inclined, you may wish to make upgrades or add other rental items for enhancement or aesthetic purposes. However, a lovely wedding does not have to break the bank! Here is how to determine your essential wedding rental needs.

When it comes to wedding rentals, it is helpful to think of them as the basic framework around which you will organize a ceremony and reception. Seating for the service, and tables and chairs for dining, are essential. Imagine you have a reception space or even a tent, but no tables and chairs, then you will have no means to accommodate your guests. On the flip side, you have a completely blank slate with which to begin! With the ability to choose the tables and chairs of your liking, you can make selections that best fulfill your wedding inspiration or vision. A traditional reception assumes you are serving a meal, and will, therefore, require some form of china, flatware, and glassware for dining. Formal weddings require more pieces for each place setting, while less formal simply command the basics. Either way, you will want to match your selections to your menu. If you have a soup course, provide a soup bowl, etc.

And finally, we know there will be drinking. Will you limit your bar to beer and wine, or do you wish to offer a full bar? Depending on the type of bar you want, you will need the appropriate amount and types of glassware to accommodate your guests throughout the entire reception. No worries here! To estimate the amount of glassware you might need, we’ve created a helpful guide for renting glassware.

Once you’ve covered these basics – seating, dining, drinking, the options are endless. From draping to backdrops to lounge areas, there are so many ways to enhance the atmosphere of a wedding.  At AAYS Event Rentals, we have a variety of rental items to work with any budget. From high-end to less expensive, we carry only quality products you will be proud to show your guests. We check all the boxes when it comes to selection, flexibility, reliability, and convenience.
